Hemp has historically been harvested for textile production — not for its psychoactive properties like its close cousin. Through selective breeding, farmers developed a plant with high levels of CBD and low levels (usually 0.3% or under) of THC. This is the hemp plant used today to create the array of CBD products we’re seeing everywhere.
