Not only is summer finally here, but life is slowly but surely going back to normal. People are allowed to gather in big groups again and events are back in action. One thing a lot of people missed most over the last year was live music and concerts. Thankfully, they’re back, which means ditching the stretchy pants and t-shirts if you’ve been working from home. If it’s been so long and you’re wondering, “how should I dress for a concert?” we’re here to help you put together an amazing look.
How should I dress for a concert?
Going to concerts is an opportunity to dress to the 9’s and match your outfit to your excitement. Whether you’re going to a concert of thousands, or at a smaller venue, bring out the sparkles and glitz! This doesn’t mean you have to resemble a disco ball, but you can wear something flashy. Think a sequined top or fun, bright jewelry. After all, it’s not every day you get to dress up!
If sparkles aren’t your thing, opt for an edgier look. Already have some merch from the band you’re going to see? Awesome. Show off your superfan status with a band tee paired with fun accessories.
At concerts, you don’t want to have your hands full while you’re dancing, but you do need a safe spot for your phone, money, keys and any other necessities. A crossbody bag is a good go-to for any live event. You can throw it on and almost forget you’re wearing it. A crossbody bag won’t slip off your shoulder when you bust a move, and all of your things are easily accessible. Of course, we recommend one with a zipper, both so things don’t fall out, and also for security.
What should you not wear to a concert?
Remember the days of sweaty dance floors and being shoulder to shoulder with strangers? Well, those days are back! With their big crowds, concerts can get pretty warm. It’s a good idea to ditch the layers so you can stay cool — it’ll also keep you comfy while you’re dancing! A denim or leather jacket are great looks for concerts but can become bulky and warm when you’re in a crowd. It’s also one less thing you’ll have to carry.
You’ll also want to leave your heels at home. We get it, your sparkly pumps are so fun and stylish, but think about being on your feet for a few hours, and how uncomfortable you’ll be! Instead, tennis shoes or ballet flats are the way to go. You won’t have to worry about sore arches or nasty blisters. They’re also easier to dance in!
